Some time ago I got the idea of making a card with 3D paper flowers after seeing a gorgeous card in Birka’s blog.
I immediately made a similar card for a friend of mine and absolutely loved it !
A couple of weeks ago, it was another friend’s birthday and I was tempted to make another card like this one… but wanted to try different types of flowers.
As it turns out I have a Silhouette Machine which I don’t use very often. I remembered finding 3D flower designs some years ago but never really did anything with them. So I took some cardstock and tried them all. Putting the flowers together is quite easy but a bit long so I did so while watching series 😉
I made many flowers and the more I was making, the more I thought it would be a pity to limit my creation to a small card. So I decided to go to Action and try and find a nice vase to arrange my flowers. And I found something perfect : a glass suspended vase. I immediately pictured the finished arrangement in my head !
The assembling part was quite easy (though a bit long also) I used toothpicks, some wrapping paper and a glue gun.
I pierced the flowers with a needle to be able to insert the toothpicks easily and put a dot of glue so it wouldn’t move. Then I took some white wrapping paper and crumble it up before putting it in the vase. After that I just had to prick the flowers in the wrapping paper. I ran out of glue in my glue gun but I would advise putting some glue whenever possible to prevent the flower from falling out.
For the leaves, I followed the Youtube video below.
And there you can admire the final result
I am very happy with the result and am already working on making more… and why not even sell them on my boutik ?! 😉
